The place
A pale golem field gone under a canopy. The stone figures are still there and still turn toward the water, but a jungle has closed over them, and somebody has built a village up in it: decks and thatched huts on limbs eighty feet off the ground, strung together with vines. The wrong note is that the villagers live among the golems and no longer remark on them.
